According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Nicolò Zaniolo will resume training in Trigoria in the coming days using a special plastic protection to shield his injured knee.
The Italian midfielder picked up two different knee injuries in 2020.
The first one was in January 12, during a Serie A clash between Roma and Juventus.
The second one was on September 7, in a Nations League match between Italy and The Netherlands.
Zaniolo underwent two knee surgeries, the second one was performed by Doctor Christian Fink in Innsbruck this past September.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Zaniolo had a successful medical check before Christmas and is expected to resume training in Trigoria in January.
The midfielder will not resume training with the rest of his teammates but will start running at Roma’s training ground using a special plastic protection that will shield his injured knee.
Zaniolo is expected to return to action in March.
