Ruiz: ‘Table looks good despite Juve’

Fabian Ruiz is satisfied with Napoli’s position in the table: ‘Despite that game against Juventus.’

The Spaniard scored one in the Partenopei’s 4-0 win over Roma on Sunday evening.

“It was nice victory, very important,” Ruiz told Sky Sport.

“It was tough because they were doing well and have good players. I believe we did well.

“We did a good work last week, we listened to the coach and pull out an important performance.

“We are aware we must be focused at all times. Sometimes we make mistakes. We play two, three good games and then we have one wrong.

“That’s what we need to improve and correct. Now we have a good position in the table despite the match we didn’t play against Juventus.”

Napoli lost the Allianz Stadium clash by default for not showing up in Turin after a COVID outbreak int he team which, however, hadn’t prevent the Partenopei from leaving Naples. Napoli were also docked one point.

The Azzurri sit fourth in the Serie A table together with Juventus and are five points off table leaders Milan.

Ruiz did share his thoughts on Diego Armando Maradona and what’s going on in Naples these days: “He was important for everybody. For Neapolitans, for footballers, for whoever was close to him. He did important things. It was but this is life, we know it’s hard.”
