Roma’s injury crisis has reached new levels, forced into making three substitutions during the first 37 minutes against Manchester United.
The Giallorossi have struggled with injuries throughout their campaign, but even they did not expect the apocalyptic scenes at Old Trafford.
Jordan Veretout pulled up within two minutes of the Europa League semi-final and limped off to make way for Gonzalo Villar at the fifth.
Goalkeeper Pau Lopez made one save on Paul Pogba, landed awkwardly to dislocate his shoulder and was replaced by Antonio Mirante at the 24th minute.
Leonardo Spinazzola then followed after 37 minutes, when Roma had taken a 2-1 lead, as Bruno Peres had to step in.
This means Roma have used up three out of five substitutions.
Above all, they used all three slots available, so can only now make changes at half-time.
