Roma have reportedly chosen their new director of sport, planning another meeting with Hamburg chief Jonas Boldt.
According to Sport1 and ASRomaPress, an initial encounter with Boldt proved to impress the Giallorossi.
Club owners The Friedkin Group therefore want to have their representatives meet with the 38-year-old German too.
Marc Watts is expected to take part in the meeting next week, suggesting Boldt is closing on the role.
Boldt worked for Bayer Leverkusen in various roles from 2007 to 2019, moving from talent scout to director of sport.
He accepted the job at Hamburger SV in May 2019 and is under contract until June 2021.
Roma have been without a genuine director of sport since Gianluca Petrachi was fired in June, so CEO Guido Fienga had to work as their transfer chief.
