La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Roma coach Paulo Fonseca has tested positive for COVID-19, which is why he didn’t travel to the Crotone game.
Fonseca held his press conference as usual this morning, but was then not present when the team bus arrived at Fiumicino Airport for the flight to Calabria.
The story emerging via several sources suggested the coach had a bout of gastroenteritis and was left at home to recover, but the club had not made any statement.
Now La Gazzetta dello Sport are suggesting the reason for the sudden change of plan was that Fonseca tested positive for COVID-19.
His assistant manager Nuno Campos will be on the bench tomorrow at the Stadio Scida.
