Juan Mata, Gary Cahill and Petr Cech all feature in our TOTW after Chelsea continued their near perfect start to the season with a 4-2 win away at Tottenham.
Star of the show, Juan Mata, lines up in our XI for the fourth game on the bounce. The Spaniard’s second-half double overturned Spurs’ 2-1 lead in the space of three minutes, and he teed up Daniel Sturridge to put the game to bed in the closing minutes.
Cahill proved a more than adequate replacement for John Terry at centre-back, and opened the scoring with a thumping volley, with captain for the day Cech on hand to thwart Kyle Walker late on.
Edin Dzeko makes the cut after he scored twice having come off the bench to help Manchester City to a 2-1 comeback win over West Brom, while Wayne Rooney’s first two strikes of the season for Manchester United see him included despite scoring an own goal in the 4-2 win over Southampton.
Liverpool’s Glen Johnson lines up at right-back following the Reds’ first Premier League win at Anfield this year against Reading, and Norwich duo Javier Garrido and Alexander Tettey also feature after victory over Arsenal.
Fabricio Coloccini’s solid display for Newcastle in the away draw with Sunderland sees him included upon his return from injury, with Mark Noble and Wayne Routledge rounding off our TOTW having played key roles in wins for West Ham and Swansea respectively.
Impressive performances from Michael Turner and Russell Martin mean they are unlucky not to make our XI this week, while Danny Welbeck and Eden Hazard also just miss out.
