Daniele De Rossi has recovered from COVID-19 five weeks after he contracted the virus working with the Italy squad.
The former Roma and Boca Juniors midfielder is now part of Azzurri boss Roberto Mancini’s coaching staff.
It was on international duty last month that he contracted COVID-19, along with circa a dozen people between players and management.
De Rossi was one of those hit hardest by the illness, as he was hospitalised for several days with double interstitial pneumonia.
Today his wife, actress Sarah Felberbaum, confirmed via Instagram that De Rossi had recovered and she was able to hug him “37 days later.”
