The Giallorossi are keen to sign the former Wolfsburg forward and the ex-Italy international would be happy if he were added to the squad
Roma captain Francesco Totti is hopeful that his side will sign Edin Dzeko from Manchester City this summer.
The Bosnia-Herzegvina international striker has been heavily linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium after falling down the pecking order under Manuel Pellegrini and Roma have already made clear their interest in the 29-year-old.
Goal understands that Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini flew into Manchester earlier in July to try to tie up a deal and Totti would love for Dzeko to join him at the Stadio Olimpico.
“It’s not down to me to convince him,” the Italian told a press conference. “I’m sure that, if he should come to Roma, he will help us. He’s a world-class player and has a very good eye for goal.”
Both City and Roma are currently playing in the International Champions Cup in Australia, with Totti’s side set to face Real Madrid on Saturday.
