The very early red card inevitably damaged Torino’s prospects, as Roma dominated with ferocious Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Lorenzo Pellegrini strikes.
Wilfried Singo was harshly shown a second yellow card after just 14 minutes and it was all downhill from there for the Granata.
Mkhitaryan and Pellegrini blasted in powerful efforts around a Jordan Veretout penalty, although Torino did mount a brave late comeback.
Andrea Belotti pounced on a defensive error and Simone Edera was unlucky to see his screamer bounce off the underside of the crossbar.
