'Dzeko doesn't want to leave Manchester City,' insists agent

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international is playing less first-team football than ever at the Etihad Stadium but his representative rejects Roma star Miralem Pjanic’s claims

Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko has no intention of leaving despite links to Roma, insists his agent.

Giallorossi midfielder Miralem Pjanic, a Bosnia and Herzegovina international team-mate of Dzeko, claimed on Monday that the forward “would run” to the Stadio Olimpico, even if it required a pay cut.

However, Irfan Redzepagic, who represents the ex-Wolfsburg star, is adamant that there has been no contact from the Italian club and that his client wants to stay at the Etihad.

“I was frankly surprised by Pjanic’s comments, unless he knows something that I don’t,” the agent told Rete Sport.

“I have had no contact with Roma, nor am I aware of any talks between the two clubs.

“It’s not a financial issue; [Dzeko] simply doesn’t want to leave the Citizens.”

The 29-year-old played only 22 Premier League games for City last season, his lowest number over a full campaign for the club.
