Edin Dzeko has had an illustrious career, branching over several nations, leagues and even on the international stage. In fact, Dzeko has become one of the best players to come out of his home nation Bosnia having won Bosnian Footballer Of The Year for three years in a row and has become somewhat of a cult hero. Due to the career that Dzeko has had, we thought we’d look back over his career and spot some of the best clubs in which he has played for and where he has been most successful.
The club in which Dzeko made a name for himself was in the Bundesliga for Wolfsburg where in his initial season he scored five goals and recorded three assists in just 11 games and was named the best striker in the first half of the season by Sportal in the 07/08 season. Dzeko went on to be the top league scorer in the club’s history with 59 goals in 96 appearances, surpassing Diego Klimowicz and therefore earnt himself a move to the Premier League.
Not that the football season is over, many football punters are looking towards the Euros in which to have a bet on, and these betting sites are offering some of the best odds for the tournament right now on the non-gamstop market. Due to the euros being on, they are currently enticing in new customers through lucrative bonuses and sign-up schemes.
Roberto Mancini was the manager that seen the potential in Dzeko and signed him during his reign at Manchester City. He was signed for £27 million which was City’s highest paid fee at the time so came with a high expectation. Dzeko went on to score 50 goals in 130 games for the blue side of Manchester and was part of the squad in 2012-13 that won the first Premier League title at the club. Dzeko possibly has his most fruitful time in terms of trophies at his career at City having won two Premier Leagues, one FA Cup, one League cup and the Community Shield once.
After months of speculation and knowing his time at City was coming to an end, he signed for Soma in 2015 for €11 million which seemed like a steal at the time for Roma. Dzeko went on to prove this was a steal and scored 77 goals in 168 games and continued to prove that he is one of the best target men in Europe during his career.
